Why would I have just one favorite thing to do?
This post is dedicated to the shameless self-promotion of my fairly new Etsy store, Rock Prairie Designs. I've been working on things to sell for quite a while now, and last weekend I was a vendor at my first show, called the "1-Stop Holiday Gift Party."
In spite of the pins and needles in the living room carpet and the continual mess, Hubby's been swell at supporting me in this. I came home yesterday to find that he had arranged my very own "art studio" - well, really it's just a corner of the living room, but hey, I'll take it!
This is what it looks like, of course there's a bunch of stuff loaded onto the table since I'm continually in the middle of a project:

And this is the project I was in the middle of:

I painted this little red trinket box in a brilliant shade of red, then embellished it with Norwegian rosemaling-style shapes of flowers and leaves. The lining work is done in gold acrylic, then the whole thing was finished with Kamar varnish and reassembled.

It can now be found at my online Etsy store, Rock Prairie Designs.
Here are a few more views of the same box:

Artistically, I like this last image the best:

So feel free to stop by my store, http://www.rockprairiedesigns.etsy.com/ - there will be a constant variety of things there. Since I'm a victim of a short attention span and I like to create just about anything, you never know what you might find!
And please, if you do like what you see, spread the word. I will custom-make items as well, just "Convo" me on Etsy.

Sandi, very nice.
I have an idea for you.
If you get your hand on any old interior doors,
Stand them straight, cut them in half.
Hinge the two pieces together.
You now paint it.
You have a nice old looking headboard.
If you have an extra piece of wood to make a top instead, then you have a portable folding table.
Just and old idea.
everything looks so good
